This policy explains how Northlane ("we") handles personal information in the puzzle game Align (the "app").

1. Game data stored on your device

Align does not require an account. Progress, coins, attendance, hint history, and settings are stored only in app storage on your device. We do not receive or store these records on any server, and the app has no account or server synchronization feature.

2. Attendance reminders

If enabled, attendance reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Depending on your Android version, you can enable them through a system permission request or the in-game reminder toggle, and turn them off in the game or in Android notification settings. Reminder preferences and scheduled times stay on the device. This feature does not use our server push services or collect your contacts.

3. Advertising and your choices

Align uses Google AdMob banner ads, optional rewarded ads, and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). Before requesting ads, the app checks your privacy choices with UMP and shows a consent form where the law requires one (such as the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland). Personalized ads are shown there only if you consent; otherwise non-personalized ads may be shown.

Where a consent form is offered, you can change your choices at any time in Settings → Ad privacy settings → Change privacy choices. Every puzzle can be played without watching ads. The app requests only ads rated G (general audiences).

4. Information processed by the advertising SDK

• Data: device identifiers such as the advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, app and ad interactions (such as impressions and clicks), device information, and diagnostics. The app does not request location permission, so it does not access precise device location such as GPS.
• How: collected automatically by the Google Mobile Ads SDK when the app requests or shows an ad
• Purposes: serving ads (personalized ads only with consent where required), measuring ad performance, troubleshooting, and preventing fraud
• Recipients: Google LLC and the advertising partners shown in the consent form's "List of partners". See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
• How to opt out: withdraw consent for personalized ads in the app's privacy choices, or reset or delete your advertising ID in Android's Ads (advertising ID) settings. Menu names and locations vary by device.

Exact processing depends on the SDK version, device, region, and your choices. Non-personalized ads still involve processing for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention.

5. Legal bases (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)

• Personalized advertising: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a))
• Non-personalized advertising, ad measurement, fraud prevention, and troubleshooting: our legitimate interests in offering the app free of charge and keeping it secure (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f))
• Replying to your inquiries: our legitimate interest in handling your request

6. International transfers

Advertising data described in section 4 is transferred to Google LLC and to the advertising partners listed in the consent form, and may be processed in the United States and other countries where Google and those partners process data. It is sent over the network when the app requests or shows an ad, and retained according to Google's policies. Transfers from the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland rely on the safeguards Google applies, such as Standard Contractual Clauses; see Google's data transfer frameworks. You can refuse personalized advertising in the app's privacy choices without any limit on gameplay.

7. Retention

• Game data on your device: kept until you uninstall the app or clear its data in Android settings. Clearing it cannot be undone.
• Email inquiries: deleted without undue delay once the inquiry has been handled.
• Data processed by the advertising SDK: governed by Google's data retention policy.

8. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or suspension of processing of your personal information. We cannot access game data stored on your device; you can delete it yourself by clearing the app's data. Send any other request to the email above and we will respond without undue delay.

• EEA, UK, and Switzerland: you also have the right to restrict processing, to object, and to data portability. You can withdraw consent at any time in the app's privacy choices, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
• Certain U.S. states: you may opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising in Settings → Ad privacy settings → Change privacy choices, or through your Android advertising ID settings.
• Other countries: you may exercise the rights provided by the laws of your country by contacting us at the email above, and we will respond in accordance with those laws.

9. Children

Align is intended for ages 13 and older and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If we learn that such information has been processed, we will take appropriate steps promptly.

10. Security

We do not store game data on servers, so it is not transmitted to or kept by us. Email inquiries are managed in an account that only the operator can access.

11. Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page. For changes that significantly affect you, we will give notice on this page at least 7 days before they take effect.
